Backed by interested parents, The Hays Striders Track Club is a competitive youth track team for all area youth. The Striders are associated with the Missouri Valley USATF and AAUorganizations, practice daily, and are coached by a combination of certified USATF and KSHSAA coaches. Athletes become members of the AAU and/or USATF. **All volunteers are required to submit to a background check conducted by the Missouri Valley USATF.**
The Hays Striders are dedicated to developing track and field skills while stressing self-discipline, confidence, and cooperation. Individual workouts based on individual goals are emphasized.
The club competes in developmental track meets in April and May, followed by qualifying track meets in the summer months. Competition is based on gender and age group. Qualification at the qualifying meets could lead to competition at the Junior Olympic Games. The games for AAU will be held in Des Moines, Iowa. The games for USATF will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina.
